We recently returned from an amazing trip to Bhutan with Bhutan Best Travel. Everything was smooth and well organised from start to finish, but what truly made the trip special were our guide, Sangay, and our driver, Pema. Sangay’s knowledge of Bhutanese history seemed endless, and he shared stories of monasteries, fortresses, and valleys in an engaging and easy way. It felt less like a history lesson and more like a friend proudly introducing his country. His sense of humour and cheerful personality kept us entertained throughout the trip, making long drives and hikes feel much easier. He was also very attentive, always knowing when we needed a break or a photo stop, and often helped capture our favourite moments as our photographer. Our driver, Pema, deserves special mention too. He must have driven these mountain roads hundreds of times, yet he approached every journey with patience and professionalism. We were always greeted by a clean and tidy vehicle, no matter how dusty the roads had been the day before. It may seem like a small detail, but after long days of sightseeing, it was something we really appreciated. There are so many special memories from this trip, but one that stands out happened on our 3rd night, coincided with Vesak Day. From the viewpoint of our hotel in Punakha, there's a full moon rise over the valley. The night was incredibly peaceful, the moonlight, surrounding mountains, and twinkling lights below created a scene that felt almost unreal! The hike to Tiger’s Nest and the Mini Tiger’s Nest also remains one of the clearest memories we brought home from Bhutan. What made the experience truly memorable, however, was seeing the country through the eyes of people who genuinely love it. Thank you, BBT, Sangay and Pema, for turning a wonderful holiday into a journey we will remember for many years to come.

We had some of the best guides we could ever ask for, sharing deep knowledge and wisdom about Buddhism and the culture of the country. We also stayed in very nice and clean hotels — not overly luxurious, but filled with warmth and genuine hospitality. The food was fantastic as well, especially for those who enjoy spicy cuisine, something many Asians can easily relate to. Over the 7 days and 6 nights, we created many fond memories through trekking, exploring, and enjoying the local food and culture. The weather in April is just perfect — not too cold and ideal for trekking and spending time in nature. You don’t need to wear too many layers, yet it never feels too hot during the day. Excellent private tour of Bhutan. The itinerary was very well organized, the hotels were great, and the whole experience felt smooth and stress-free. We just got back from a 10-day trip from western and central Bhutan. We selected BBT due to Jaclyn's responsiveness and her ability to tailor the itinerary to our needs. The trip was well planned and gave us ample time to acclimatise, with shorter hikes and gradually building up to longer ones. We opted for mid-range hotels and were generally happy with the choices. The 4x4 was always clean, spacious, comfortable and solid - something that's important when travelling on mountain roads. Now comes our guide Sangay and driver Khandu. What can I say..... They were in fact the highlight of our trip (well, of course besides Tiger's Nest ;D)! Sangay was wonderfully thoughtful judging from the smallest details, like arranging the best room views for us without us asking & special local food arrangements. He's also extremely knowledgeable. His cheeky personality kept us entertained on long drives. Khandu was a quiet and safe driver, and incredibly funny and thoughtful as well. Together, they formed such a great team that made the experience exceptional for us!

We asked Bhutan Best Travel to design a bespoke 10 day tour for our trip according to our specifications. The interaction over email with Nidup and Jaclyn in order to prepare the trip was effortless and they provided us exactly what we asked for. Once in Bhutan we were greeted at the airport by Lotay, who was our guide for the 10 days we spent in Bhutan. Very knowledgeable, super easy to interact with and eager to please. We did not know what to expect when we landed in Bhutan but it turned out to be a great adventure. Guided by the knowledgeable, bubbly and friendly Ms Kinley and driven around by the warm and knowledgeable Mr Pee Dee, we had a fantastic time. The itinerary was great and the hotels we stayed in were fantastic. The highlight of the trip was our 6 hours hike up and down Tiger’s Nest. My knee caps and feet will forever remember this haha. Also, the Bhutanese food like ezay, momos and ema datshi are a must try! Thanks to Kinley and Pee Dee for introducing them. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Bhutan, all thanks to Kinley and Pee Dee and of course Bhutan Best.

I did a 6D5N Bhutan tour covering Paro, Thimphu and Punakha with Sangay as guide and Lottee (hope i spell this right) as driver. Both did an overwhelming job making this tour an exceptional experience. Hotels and food were excellent, i was taken best care of my wellbeing. Sangay and Lottee did their very best, taking me to the highlights of my visited places, providing all background info, giving answers to all my (naive) questions. The tour was organized very well to each detail, my guide was always responsive prior and during the tour and even when i had special requests they took good care.

Ignore the lone bad review. I used Bhutan Best Travel for my solo trip to Bhutan in December last year and I have nothing but praise for their service. I had settled on BBT primarily as Jacyln was a fellow Singaporean and I felt assured after speaking to her. I had to postpone my trip after all the bookings were done due to a family emergency and Jaclyn was most helpful and all re applications/re bookings were done promptly and efficiently. Throughout my 9 days trip, I received 5 star care from my guide, Rabbit and driver, Khandu. Rabbit gave me valuable knowledge on Bhutan and Buddhism and made sure that I get the most amazing photos! While Khandu was most attentive to my needs. Both were instrumental in making this trip a most memorable one for me. What I love most was the fully customisable nature. No request was too small or unachievable. My dietary concerns and other wishes were duly met. Yes, BBT is not the cheapest agent around but their service is exceptional. And Bhutan certainly lives up to its name. The place has such a mystical aura. I highly recommend a visit to Bhutan and get BBT!

Bhutan had been on our bucket list for a long time, and Bhutan Best finally made it happen for us! Our consultation and booking with co-founder Jaclyn was quick and easy, and she happily tailored our private to suit the needs of my mom and grand-aunt. While in Bhutan, our guide Lotay and driver Sanjay made the trip very comfortable, smooth-going and enjoyable! Lotay was a fountain of knowledge and shared his love for his country and its people with us, alongside great jokes on the sometimes long journey. Sanjay was a great driver (very careful) and kept the car clean everyday and made sure we were supplied with water. Rain dashed our plans on the last few days and unfortunately we couldn’t do the hike we wanted to do but Lotay happily rearranged some new activities (eg cooking demonstration at a farm stay, a massage) for us to do while in Paro instead. When our flight home was delayed for over 9 hours, Lotay kept in touch with us constantly to ensure we got on the plane. Overall, the trip was really easy for us as Bhutan Best took care of everything from the get go - packing instructions, airport pickup, hotel check ins, meals etc. ☺️

Upon arriving at the Paro airport in Bhutan, we received a warm and gracious welcome by our guide Sangay and driver Khandu. We were delighted with our guide’s enthusiasm and passion to teach us all that he knew about his country’s people, their history, culture, customs and cuisine. Our driver Khandu kept us safe on the road with his ninja driving skills and the uncanny ability to manifest just about anything we wanted to happen, earning him the nickname Kan-do. This was the Perfect trip from first contact to the end. Every question was answered almost immediately before we arrived and once in Bhutan, we had one of the best guides that I have ever had. Sanguay and our driver, Terine, were always nearby making sure we had an understanding of the culture and history of what we were seeing or getting the best service from our hotel or restaurant. I wouldn’t hesitate using them again or recommending them.

I chose Best Bhutan Travel because it was high on the tripsdvisor ranking - and frankly because their communications were very professional compared to other agencies and individual travel guides I had reached out to. Communication has been fast, crisp and helpful. They were very supportive with the payment which honestly felt so strange to me (you pay Bhutanese agencies through the national Bhutan bank). They took care of the visa, and our return flights from Nepal to Bhutan. We were happy with the suggested itinerary. We spent 12 days together, all the way to Bumthang. On the trip itself we realised it is more of a guideline where to go - with changes possible for e.g. hotel or activities. The latter was notably thanks to our guide and driver who were phenomenal. We had an amazing time with Lotay (guide) and Khandu (driver). They were kind, attentive, knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. They adjusted the itinerary based on our interests* and their experience. We went to the (in)official start of the Paro festival which is held in the "second tiger nest". We were the only Western foreigners and were so welcomed by all locals, and really enjoyed watching the masked dances, with Lotay explaining to us their meanings and purposes. *Our guide was very, very attentive. For example I mentioned quickly that my wife does a lot of arts and crafts. Therefore, we visited a paper making factory and the institution of 13 arts in Timphu. We really appreciated it. We also went to Karaoke twice, and competed in archery and darts. Our visits to the temples were amazing, with Lotay teaching us about tantric Buddhism, and as a very social person, always talked with the monks and shared more insights with us. Along the way we learnt from the head monks and got blessed. Honestly I could go on about all the positive aspects. On the 2nd day I briefly mentioned that this trip was actually our honeymoon. The very evening they congratulated us with wine and cake, and every hotel had some decoration to celebrate our marriage. It was also very important for me that we eat local, Bhutanese food. It's spicy, trust me. This may be an important element to mention in your planning so that restaurants and hotels are made aware. Our guide and driver took care of everything. We were also always fed to keep energy levels up. Honestly, you get the drift, so I wholeheartedly recommend Best Bhutan Travel. Finally, surprisingly, some hotels were very nice and empty, as if they were just booked for us. We were lucky. As a word of advice: the more East you travel, the more you'll spend time in the car, so prepare accordingly your expectations. We did enjoy Trongsa and Bumthang though! Very different to Western Bhutan.

My partner and I visited Bhutan over the course of a week and was wowed by the majestic nature and vibrant culture that Bhutan had to offer. Even though both of us were unfortunate to come down with food poisoning towards the latter half of the trip, we were super well taken care of by our guide Lotay and driver Khandu. Would recommend Bhutan Best Travel for a well curated itinerary and thought through recommendations, but I would pay abit more attention in retrospect to a couple of the dining establishments (which were likely the cause of our stomach upsets)

My husband and I have just completed a 12 day tour with Bhutan Best Travel. We are in our mid-50s and have been travelling most of our adult lives. We have almost always done this independently, so we were a little unsure how we would fare on an organised tour. We needn't have worried. We had an amazing experience of Bhutan, and that was in no small part due to our guide Sangay and driver Tshering. They were incredibly thoughtful and always looking for ways to make our trip special. We had the flexibility to change what we did, when we did it, where we ate, and what we ate. Sangay picked up on things we said during the trip and then incorporated that into our experience. (Eg. We told him early on we liked eating fish, so he organised with some of our hotels some delicious fish meals.) We opted for 3 star hotels and we were very happy with the choices that Bhutan Best Travel made for us. Our experience with the staff at all the hotels was positive, and our rooms were comfortable with great views, usually looking out across a valley at the local dzong. There were so many highlights - the stunning natural scenery, the fauna and flora, the unique architecture, the fascinating history and traditions, the Bhuddist culture and way of life, and the warm and gentle Bhutanese people. We started in Paro and timed our visit in April so we could see the Paro festival and the Rhododendrons in bloom. From Paro, we headed east, visiting Thimpu, Punakha, Trongsa, Jakar (in Bumthang), and Gangtey. We visited dzongs, temples, monasteries, local markets, a local school, a local brewery, a home stay, tried our hand at archery (the national sport) and went on a number of short hikes. A real highlight was the hike up to Tiger's Nest. We started out just before sunrise to beat the crowds to the top and weren't disappointed. It was a magical experience and one not to be missed. Bhutan is a small country, but the challenging geography means a bit of time spent in the car travelling from valley to valley, negotiating narrow roads that cling to steep valley walls, snaking their way up over high passes where yaks graze amongst the Rhododendrons, with distant views of snow capped mountain peaks. Despite the challenging road conditions, we always felt safe with Tshering at the wheel. Our time in the car was spent learning about life in Bhutan, which Sangay and Tshering were happy to share with us. We can't speak more highly of Sangay and Tshering. They went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. We learnt so much from Sangay and his knowledge of Bhutanese history and culture, and he really enriched our experience as we explored the numerous temples and dzongs that we visited. We really appreciated his willingness to tailor our experience according to our interests. Tshering was so sweet and caring. He was great company and very thoughtful. He drove extra cautiously when my husband was sick with a stomach bug for a couple of days, and constantly checked in to make sure he was OK. Sangay and Tshering made us feel relaxed and at home. We shared many meals with them, and the four of us spent hours in the car together. We developed a great rapport and had a lot of laughs along the way. It's only been a few days, but we are already missing them both. If you are planning a trip to Bhutan, we would both thoroughly recommend Bhutan Best Travel. From our first contact with the office team when we started looking into the trip, through to our final farewell with Sangay and Tshering at the airport, our experience was first rate.

I have been traveling around the world for years. But, this Buhdtan trip is the most memorable one. I loved it so much. The culture and people are so kind, very trustworthy, and good heart. The temples are so antique, the beauty of themself, peaceful and harmony. The arrival landing and departure takeoff of the plane at Paro airport quite an unique experienced. Last but also the very important is the tour company. Mr Nidup is the lead tour guide. He has about 15 assistants working together to guide our group of about 50 people. For the entire trip, we got "no one left behind 😀", even with 50 people disbursed into at least 25 different directions. Seriously, Nidup would not do that. Nidup(the man) and every single one of the Nidup team were kind, patient, cared, supportive. I would go again, and NOT hesitate at all, to Buhdtan with Nidup company and highly recommend anyone to use his company. In my 30+ years of travel, I have received services from several travel agencies. Most of them are good, but, in my own opinion, none of them can match Bhutan Best Travel (BBT). We have enjoyed a extremely wonderful week in Bhutan, feeling totally relaxed and comfortable. The owner/manager of BBT as well as its team of tour guides and drivers did a fantastic job. I have the feeling that they treated us not only as ordinary clients but really as dear friends or family members. They took care of us in every minute details, ensuring that our needs, no matter how small, are well taken care of. I give a concrete example in my case. One day, I somehow got sick with the stomach flu and could not eat anything for couple days. The team has gone out of their way to help me by cooking some special soup and enlist the help of my wife ( 🙂 ) to make sure that I have enough nutrition to join the Tiger Nest hike later. I will never forget their kindness. Before the trip, I just have a vague idea about Bhutan which is, for me at that time, just another country to visit. But now, through the kindness, professionalism and compassion of the BBT team, I come to love and respect profoundly the country as well as her people. And I wish that I will have another chance to visit this great country and meet our BBT friends again.
